Global New Generation FPSO P80 Delivered in Yantai

On April 6, P80, a new generation of Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit, was officially delivered at Yantai CIMC Raffles Terminal. This super energy equipment, under the traction of six high-powered tugboats, slowly sailed away from the terminal and will go to Singapore to carry out the upper module integration and system debugging and other subsequent projects, and is planned to be deployed in the ultra-deepwater oilfields offshore Brazil in the future.

In order to ensure that P80 can be safely towed out of the harbor, Yantai Maritime Bureau has taken a number of measures. They set up a special working group to take the initiative to dock the project demand, and convened the port, pilotage and other units to convene a navigation safety coordination meeting to discuss and study the departure program in detail. At the same time, Yantai Maritime Bureau also joined hands with beacon station, Fisheries Bureau and other units to check the path of departure, ensure the safety distance between the tugboat and the aquaculture area, and eliminate the unfavorable factors that may affect the departure of the equipment in a timely manner.

During the towing operation, Yantai Maritime Bureau made full use of VTS, AIS, CCTV and other technical means to carry out the whole electronic inspection and monitoring, and dispatched the sea patrol vessel to carry out on-site supervision, which provided a solid safety guarantee for the towing process of P80 out of the harbor.

With an overall length of 345.3 meters, a width of 60 meters and a total weight of more than 90,000 tons, P80 is one of the largest FPSOs undertaken by domestic shipyards. Aiming at the ultra-deepwater environment of Brazil's Buzios oil field, the unit adopts multi-point mooring system and high-strength materials, capable of stable operation in 2,000-meter water depths to meet the complex demands of sub-salt oil field exploitation. With a design capacity of 225,000 barrels per day (bpd), it is one of the highest capacity and most advanced FPSOs of its kind in the world.
